A stamp card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet
A stamp card in the Wallet sits next to your customer's boarding pass and concert tickets. How it gets there, how a stamp works and what your customer sees on their lock screen.
Short answer
A stamp card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet is a digital card your customer adds to their phone with one scan, without an app. On an iPhone it goes into Apple Wallet, on Android into Google Wallet. After every stamp the card updates by itself, often with a short notification on the lock screen.

What is the difference between Apple Wallet and Google Wallet?
For you as a shop owner there is hardly any difference. You make one card design and it works in both. Your customer simply uses the Wallet that comes with their phone.
| Apple Wallet | Google Wallet | |
|---|---|---|
| Phone | iPhone | Android |
| Already on the phone | On every iPhone | On most Android phones |
| Adding the card | One tap on the Apple Wallet button | One tap on the Google Wallet button |
| After a stamp | The card updates by itself | The card updates by itself |
| New phone | The card moves over through iCloud | The card moves over with the Google account |
How does the card get into your customer's Wallet?
- Your customer scans the QR code on the poster by your till.
- They type their first name on your shop's sign up page.
- They tap the Wallet button. On an iPhone Apple Wallet comes first, on Android Google Wallet.
- The Wallet shows the card and your customer confirms with one tap.
On a computer you see both buttons and a QR code to open the page on your phone. That makes it easy to test the sign up page yourself.
What does your customer see on the card?
The front looks like a small card in your shop's colours. Your logo is at the top with a strip of stamps below it. It also shows the number of stamps such as 7 / 10, the reward, your customer's first name and a QR code.
On the back your customer finds how it works, the last message you sent and a link to their own data. There they can see everything and delete their card and data.
How does a stamp work in the Wallet?
You scan the QR code on the card with the scanner in the browser or with the Usuals app. We add the stamp and send the new count to your customer's Wallet. Within a few seconds the new stamp is on their card.
If your connection drops, the scanner keeps the stamp and sends it as soon as you are back online. Offline scans up to 72 hours old are processed, with the same check of one stamp every 12 hours.
Does your customer get lock screen notifications?
Yes, at a few moments:
- After a stamp or a reward. The card updates, often with a short notification.
- When you send a message. An offer or a birthday message arrives as a notification on the card. Only customers who said yes when they signed up get these, and that box is never ticked in advance.
- Near your shop. Add your address and your card can appear on the lock screen when your customer walks past.
The welcome message and the nearby notification are on every plan. Offers, birthday messages and win back are on the paid plans. Google Wallet allows at most three notifications per card per 24 hours. Send more and the message still appears on the card, just without a notification. Your customer can always switch off a card's notifications in their Wallet.
What if your customer gets a new phone?
The card moves with them. Apple Wallet moves cards over through iCloud, Google Wallet keeps them in the Google account. The stamps are stored with us and not only on the phone, so nothing is lost. If a card does go missing, your customer signs up again with the same email address and gets their existing card back.
How do you get started with a Wallet card?
You do not need an Apple or Google account to start. We take care of that. Create an account, design your card and put up the poster. It is free up to 30 customers; the other plans are on the pricing page.
